Today marks the day of my very first Cover. Officially Published. This is such an amazing feeling. This past year has been full of new accomplishments and bar raising. I can only image what this next year has to offer.
I count my blessings that I have such wonderful friends, like Shane Lopes. Shane is an insanely SICK photographer and the most psyched, positive person you'd ever wanna work with. We've had quite a few shoots together... editorials, product shoots, look books, headshots, model test shoots and some personal project stuff... When Shane called and asked if I wanted to be MUA on a LA WEEKLY Cover shoot, there was, really, only one answer. YES!!!
Now, I had heard of Black Lives Matter, knew why the movement started but I didn't know all the particulars. It was eye opening to be so close to these strong women with powerful voices and just spend some time with them. Learning about their families, where they grew up, how busy they are being public eye activists. It's shoots like these that remove you from your everyday and really start thinking about things. If you get a moment, pick one of these bad boys up and give it a read. Plus, when was the last time you read an LA Weekly?

Shamell Bell had the CUTEST stories about her 4 year old boy! He's a little mini me activist and looooves getting the crowds hyped. I'd love o see him in action.
Povi-Tamu Bryant doesn't usually wear make up... I assured her I was not going to go crazy and "America's Next Top Model" her face. hahaha
